This book has BEAUTIFUL designs. Tops that will get you compliments and offers versatility for all seasons. The short bio about the author is very interesting as well. This large paperback also has a bookmark flap in front and back, a nice feature rarely seen. Designs vary from vests, jackets, long and short sleeve sweaters, solid & lacy designs. Simple and streamlined, but feminine. A great deal of educational information about FIT. I am in love with the Fiji Cardi, but the jacket on the cover is wonderful as well. On Pages 37 & 38 she gives instructions for width and length alterations, so if you are plus-sized or you want something looser fitting, you have the directions.
This book it the very best sweater book. It goes into such great detail plus tells you how to make any crochet sweater how you want it. how to meausure and count rows to make any sweater fit perfect and change it to make it perfect!!! Plus it also shows you how to design a sweater and its so imformative and easy to understand. And gave me the confidence to make a sweater!! I hope dora ohrenstein keeps on writing crochet books I will buy all of them!! If you are scared to make a crocheted sweater buy this book it gives you all the tools you need to make beautiful sweaters in all sizes!!
I bought my book from Amazon a short time ago (copyright date 2012). I went to the website at Lark Crafts and clicked on Product Updates. I then looked into the errors for this book and compared with my copy. My book did NOT have any errors in it, not even one so I'm assuming that it was an earlier printing that was defective. Not sure what happened there, but that printing had a TON of errors.I just wanted to reassure those thinking of buying this book from Amazon.
This book provides crochet sweater patterns that you can adjust to fit your shape. Info is given for each pattern on how to make alterations to the neckline, sleeve cap, and how to add length and width where you need it. Though instructions are not given on how to design and draft your own crocheted sweaters, by putting together the info like pieces of a puzzle, it's quite possible to design and draft your own crocheted sweater creations, even though you may need to tweak things as needed.

From taking your own measurements and understanding your fit preferences, through different types of sweater construction and how to alter them, you will learn all you need to know to make your sweaters fit. Knitters have many of these books available to them, but this is a first for crochet garments.The gorgeous designs are a plus! Dora has designed some really innovative and beautiful sweaters in this book...there are at least 3-4 that I need to make right away, and I will likely wind up making them all. How many books can say that?If you have even the slightest interest in making crochet sweaters, get this book. It is worth many times the cover price.

If you love making crocheted garments but are never quite pleased with the fit then this is the book that will help you figure out how to make those necessary alterations that will result in a garment that actually fits AND it will make you smile! I just bought the book last year in December and have completed my first garment following the instructions as described in the text. I must say that I have never had a crocheted garment fit so well. I consider this to be one of the most valuable instructional books I've ever purchased because I'm actually learning how to adapt a pattern to fit my body dimensions.
