So sad that this is the last book in Nava's story because this series is absolutely one of my most favorite (and I read a LOT of books) and book 6, like the last 5, does not disappoint! Burn brings a lot of the story lines to a satisfying conclusion, although I am happy that Leonie is getting her own book as well because I'm just not ready to leave Nava's world quite yet! I loved seeing Nava's evolution throughout the series. The fantastic dialog, story lines and character interactions made it nearly impossible to put any of the books in this series down and I will miss being a part of Nava & Ro's world!
How bittersweet. The last book of this series is also the best. Through the series, we have come to love these characters as they have grown and developed. We love them not in spite of but because of their quirks and flaws that many of us can relate to. Thank you, Deborah for taking us on this epic journey.
Love this series. The characters are awesome. I highly recommend it and this author.L
After the ending of the last book I was worried about what would happen to Nava and Rohan. This book did not disappoint. I am sad this is the last book but it is an excellent series.
Nava rises from the ashes to kick some a*#. You’ll be swept along on her journey to save the world, get her man and maybe have some hot sex along the way.
Such a great ending. Wilde never fails to impress me.
Oh my goodness, what to say about this. It's a wonderful feeling to follow an author's growth from the beginning to the series to the last book of it and see it coming back better and stronger. Burn is, to be honest, the culmination of an incredible journey for the characters, the readers and the author. It's action-packed, fast-paced and it features all of our beloved usual suspects. The author is able to tie magic, tradition and a world of intricacies in a wonderful resolution where she pulls at the threads of the story and weaves them in in a magical ending. An in the center of this entire world stands Nava... stronger, more powerful, still making mistakes but knowing that she is loved and treasured and that she can overcome anything life throws at her, because she's learned, she's evolved and she and Rohan have everything to look for.Once again, I adore how Deborah continues to explore Nava as her own individual with fears, mistakes and good moments; and also how her relationship with Rohan keeps growing stronger. They still have bumps in the road, but they continue to talk about it, to deal with their shit and simply overcome the obstacles because they are determined to get past all the bullshit into their blissful happy ending. And Drio and Leonie, omg those two are my undoing and I loved how Deborah started to slowly mixed them in more and more into the plot and their own story in anticipation of her own book. I really liked to see them both fighting each other and that it wasn't easy to come back from who they are and what happened between them. Drio still has a lot more groveling to do, but him coming to terms with Leonie's nature and also with Aisha's death... my heart swoons. My OTP is getting is own book! yes yes yes !!!A wonderful book from beginning to end and the perfect culmination of a wonderful series.
Burn #6 - Do not read this book without reading the previous books! All good things must end and I really enjoyed this series. Burn picks up where Fall ends and the pace is fast and hard. All the storylines come together ending the series perfectly. Nava and Rohan having grown throughout the series, mesh well together and with all the factions in their joined fight against evil.Nava is not the Babyslay of the second book, but a well developed woman confident in her abilities and recognized by others as a proven leader. Even Rohan keeps getting better and works perfectly for and with Nava. There's plenty of the usual and unusual characters to keep every reader's interest, along with the humor.Ms. Wilde has done a wonderful with this series. Her talent for writing, along with her intense storytelling and vivid descriptions, topped with plenty of imagination and humor makes it difficult to put one of her books down. Leonie is one of favorite characters and I'm glad to see her story continue on from here. I contacted the author to review her books. 5*The Unlikeable Demon Hunter: Sting #2 - Babyslay vs. psycho spawns. I missed the first book, how sad! Not reading book one did not take anything away from book two. She's an abrasive, smart mouth with an over-sex-drive, which is OK, because she can kick butt. I love the way Rohan trains her as she's fighting for her life. Ms. Wilde is a wonderful author: her colorful descriptions; the humor; a reasonable amount of vulgar language. It's true that not all real people use vl, much less curse. The action, fast pace, humorous plot along with the good descriptions holds the reader in a tight grip. After the first sex scene, the story kicked into overdrive. There's sex, but don't let that stop you from reading this entertaining book. All sex scenes boremeoutofmyeverlovingmind, I'm not a prude. Paperback. 5*The Unlikeable Demon Hunter: Need #3- More Babyslay. More of the well written series, with the humor, the colorful descriptions and twisting plot that makes Need almost as interesting as Sting. The action and romances continue and it's hard to put the book down. The vulgar language is kept to a reasonable level and the sex scenes still boremetodeath (not just this author's, all authors). I contacted the author to review this book after reading Sting. 5*The Unlikeable Demon Hunter: Crave #4 – Another well written, action-packed, fast-paced, intrigue filled book. This must the best so far with the well thought out plot of nonstop twists and turns and surprises that keeps the reader glued to the pages. The characters show growth and even the minor characters have enough to them to keep the reader interested. The vulgar language is actually toned down quite a bit and there’s plenty of graphic sex – skip them if GS is not your cuppa, I find all GS boring. While not a cliffhanger, there’s more coming. Ms. Wilde does an excellent job with her descriptions. 4*The Unlikeable Demon Hunter: Fall #5 - I did have a problem with the chapters about the Pride parade. I'm not sure if I was getting a lecture or Pride forced down my throat, but I got bored quick with much of the information that didn't matter; clothing, repetition, etc. (You don't know me so don't think I dislike gays; boring is boring regardless of subject matter.) I love this series but this book didn't have the magic like the previous books did. Maybe it was too much unimportant information (or filler is the impression I sometimes received) and not the usual fast paced intrigue that this series has in bunches. The book is still good but I had to work at reading it over several days; either too wordy or sometimes I was just confused. I usually finish one of Ms. Wilde's book in one day; you can't put them down, they're so entertaining and addicting. Still, I'm looking forward to the next book. 4*
