About the Author

WYNN KAPIT Wynn Kapit, the designer and illustrator of this book, has had careers in law, graphic and advertising design, painting, and teaching.       In 1955, he graduated from law school, with honors, from the University of Miami and was admitted to the Florida Bar. He practiced law both before and after military service. Four years later, he decided to pursue a childhood ambition and enrolled at what is now the Art Center College in Los Angeles, where he studied graphic design. Afterwards, he worked in the New York advertising world for six years as a designer and art director. He “dropped out” in the late 1960s, returned to California, and began painting. His numerous exhibitions included a one-man show at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor in 1968. He returned to school and received a master’s degree in painting from the University of California at Berkeley in 1972.       Kapit was teaching figure drawing in Adult Ed in San Francisco in 1975 when he decided he needed to learn more about bones and muscles. He enrolled in Dr. Elson’s anatomy class at San Francisco City College. While he was a student, he created the word-and-illustration coloring format that seemed to be a remarkably effective way of learning the subject. He showed some layouts to Dr. Elson and indicated his intention to do a coloring book on bones and muscles for artists. Immediately recognizing the potential of this method, Dr. Elson encouraged Kapit to do a “complete” coloring book on anatomy and offered to collaborate on the project. The first edition of The Anatomy Coloring Book was published in 1977, and its immediate success inspired the development of a completely new field of publishing: educational coloring books.       Kapit went on to create The Physiology Coloring Book with the assistance of two professors who were teaching at Berkeley: Dr. Robert I. Macey and Dr. Esmail Meisami. That book was published in 1987 and has gone through two editions. In the early 1990s, Kapit wrote and designed The Geography Coloring Book, now in its second edition.   LAWRENCE M. ELSON Lawrence M. Elson, PhD, planned the content and organization, provided sketches, and wrote the text for the book. This is his seventh text, having authored It’s Your Body and The Zoology Coloring Book and co-authored The Human Brain Coloring Book and The Microbiology Color ing Book. He received his BA in zoology and pre-med at the University of California at Berkeley and continued there to receive his PhD in human anatomy. Dr. Elson was assistant professor of anatomy at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, participated in the development of the Physician’s Assistant Program, lectured and taught dissection anatomy at the University of California School of Medicine in San Francisco, and taught general anatomy, from protozoons to humans, at City College of San Francisco.       In his younger days, Dr. Elson trained to become a naval aviator and went on to fly dive-bombers off aircraft carriers in the Western Pacific. While attending college and graduate school, he remained in the Naval Air Reserve and flew antisubmarine patrol planes and helicopters. His last position in his 20-year Navy career was as commanding officer of a reserve antisubmarine helicopter squadron.       Dr. Elson is a consultant to insurance companies and personal injury and medical malpractice attorneys on causation-of-injury/death issues, a practice that has taken him throughout the United States and Canada. He has testified in hundreds of personal injury trials and arbitrations. His research interests are focused on the anatomic bases of myofascial pain arising from low velocity accidents.

This is a great book. I used it when I was studying to be a personal trainer and my sister is using it as she studies to be a nurse. There's something about coloring that really allows the information to stick in your head. Plus it's much more fun than flash cards.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you READ ALL the information in the section labeled "INTRODUCTION TO COLORING" BEFORE you start coloring your first page. This is located on pages "xii" and "xiii" in the front of the 4th edition. This book is very well thought out and there really is a "method to the madness" if you actually read and follow the directions.I've found it beneficial to read through all the NAMES first, checking for parts that have similar names. Second, choose SIMILAR COLORS for SIMILAR NAMES or FUNCTIONS. For example, I chose Red, Orange and Yellow for the "Levators"; 2 colors of Blue for the "Zygomaticus Major" and "Zygomaticus Minor"' and 2 shades of Brown for the "Depressors" (page 44). Then look over the basic diagram to get a feel for the order which they appear in the body. Assign the colors in order by location in the diagram. For instance, go from back to front as follows: Red (back), Orange (middle) then Yellow (front). This natural color transition helps solidify the order they appear from postier to anterior or superior to inferior (whatever the case may be) etc. NOTE: I realize this takes extra time planning your colors, but it really makes it easier to memorize when there is a consistant plan in place for what the colors visually symbolize. Finally, color in the Name First then repeat the names while coloring in that particular portion of the diagram. . I also underline the names on the left page the same as the diagram color - just makes it faster to locate if I want to look for something later...not necessary, but nice. I pre-ordered my book as I wanted the newest edition. I LOVE MY BOOK and ended up having to order a couple of extras as gifts for my "nurse" friends who wanted a fun way to refresh their memory too!

This book was amazing for helping me actually learn the structures for Anatomy and Physiology I. I recommend using this book while you are learning the structures in lab. It helps it stick in your brain, and it makes learning fun. I even found myself during the lab exam remembering the colors I used for that particular structure. One thing I also like is they give you a little study outline for the page you are about to color, detailing what they do.It was the best money I could have spent to help me pass lab this Summer!

Bought this book for my daughter who's taking Anatomy in college. She said it's a great book, and, "Anyone who's a Kinesthetic learner should use this book. Seeing pretty colors attracts you so the coloring helps that." I got her it in time to help her study for her midterm and she quizzed herself by covering the labels on the page she was coloring. She followed the suggestions in the book for what color to use for different functions and suggests everyone do so because it helps when you later go back to something you already colored. She got a 103/100 on the 1st test she used it to help study for :) As a patent I'm ecstatic with it since my daughter is very happy with it and said it's helping her. I also bought one for her friend who's studying for a career in the medical field too.

This really helped my master Anatomy as a nursing student. I have ADHD and dyslexia, so reading copious amounts of textbook pages has always been a challenge for me. Regardless of your learning abilities, Anatomy is a subject best learned through hands-on tactile work (labs and other kinesthetic learning activities). This coloring book is the perfect conjunction of grown-up learning bringing back memories from childhood coloring books...haha!

Like most of the reviewers, I am taking anatomy and physiology for two semesters and was looking for a book to supplement my learning. I am currently four pages in to coloring and here is my review.Pros: Short explanations on every page on the parts that you are coloring and their functions. : It makes you color in the part as well as its name so you remember how it is spelled : Uses terminology that you must (eventually) be familiar with e.g: "anteriorly" and "posteriorly"Cons: While most of the diagrams (thus far) are pretty clearly drawn, some are extremely small (the diameter, and some times smaller than the diameter of the tip of the colored pencil) : Some diagrams are not very clearly labeled thus, makes coloring it confusing. e.g: on page 4, you are to color male and female reproductive systems. However, the "stars" that mark areas that you are not supposed to color are microscopic! I actually accidentally colored in an area that I was NOT supposed to color because I could barely see it. : You need more than the recommended 10 colors are stated in the introduction- you probably need 48 because some colors such as red, blue, yellow, purple, and green are associated with specific parts. Also, you are to color using light colors and some pages have letters from A to N that you have to use different colors for.My suggestion: buy the book, buy lots of colored pencils, buy NEON colored pencils and also, buy bright colored gel pens with a 0.38 point. Those will come in handy when you are coloring linings of anything. Trust me, some of these linings are SO narrow, you would be coloring out of the lines if you don't have a pen. Plus, these linings are to be colored in light of bright colors so get some neon or even pastel ones!!Good luck!

Amazon.com Review

An Amazon Best Book of the Month, August 2013: Liane Moriary is probably doomed to be forever labeled a writer of “chick lit.” But despite its dopey name, her new novel, The Husband’s Secret, is better described as a comedy of manners and one with a serious undertone. As in her previous books, most successfully What Alice Forgot, Moriarty here wittily and observantly chronicles the life of middle aged, middle class Australian women, suburbanites who grapple with prosaic issues like marital fidelity and torturous ones like moral guilt and responsibility. You can’t help but laugh along with the small observations--“And there was poor little Rob, a teenage boy clumsily trying to make everything right, all false smiles and cheery lies. No wonder he became a real estate agent.” But it’s the big ones--Can good people do very, very bad things, and what, exactly, are we responsible for, and for how long?--that will make you think. This is a deceptively rich novel that transcends its era and place at the same time that it celebrates same. --Sara Nelson

From Publishers Weekly

Australian author Moriarty, in her fifth novel (after The Hypnotist's Love Story), puts three women in an impossible situation and doesn't cut them any slack. Cecilia Fitzpatrick lives to be perfect: a perfect marriage, three perfect daughters, and a perfectly organized life. Then she finds a letter from her husband, John-Paul, to be opened only in the event of his death. She opens it anyway, and everything she believed is thrown into doubt. Meanwhile, Tess O'Leary's husband, Will, and her cousin and best friend, Felicity, confess they've fallen in love, so Tess takes her young son, Liam, and goes to Sydney to live with her mother. There she meets up with an old boyfriend, Connor Whitby, while enrolling Liam in St. Angela's Primary School, where Cecilia is the star mother. Rachel Crowley, the school secretary, believes that Connor, St. Angela's PE teacher, is the man who, nearly three decades before, got away with murdering her daughter—a daughter for whom she is still grieving. Simultaneously a page-turner and a book one has to put down occasionally to think about and absorb, Moriarty's novel challenges the reader as well as her characters, but in the best possible way. #20,308 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)

This is a review for the Audible version of The Husband's Secret. Oh, Liane Moriarty. You have won me over again. I recently read Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty and immediately fell in love with her talent for characterization and the very Desperate Housewives snarky-ness and hilarity of the dialogue. Now be warned, her novels do have an abundance of characters and usually change perspectives as the chapters change--- but it is so worth it to see the character development unfold and see the unique ways that she intertwines their stories. In The Husband's Secret, you are quickly introduced to three main women who are at the center of the story. Cecilia Fitzpatrick -- For me, Cecilia is the heart of the story. I love her over-the-top, hilarious character. She's a front-runner who seemingly has her life all together, packed nice and organized into a little box (much like the Tupperware she seells). Cecilia finds a letter from her husband in the attic that is noted to be opened in the event of his death. We all know what is going to happen here... You can't dangle a carrot in front of a horse and expect him not to move. Tess O'Leary -- Tess is your average wife, mom, business-owner combo, nothing drastically exciting happening in her life.. that is until her husband and cousin (who is also her best friend and business partner) sit her down to "let her know" that they have fallen in love. How will Tess cope with this news? How do you move forward after an announcement like that?Rachel Crowley -- Rachel is a middle-aged woman who is fighting the conflict of her young grandson moving (with his family) to New York, in a completely different country across a vast ocean. She is also suffering through the echoing grief that lingers from her daughter's murder many years ago. Does time heal all wounds? Will Rachel ever be able to find a sense of closure? These characters are so much fun and the conflicts they all face are so real. They are conflicts that many people face every day, but are by no means easy to deal with. I could feel the hurt, frustration, betrayal, confusion, paranoia, and anxiety of all of these characters and loved watching their stories unfold. Their stories all intersect in the end in the most unexpected and captivating ways. Make sure you don't skip over the epilogue. I love when a novel can make me stop and ponder things in my own life and my own choices, and the epilogue of this novel did just that. “None of us ever know all the possible courses our lives could have and maybe should have taken. It's probably just as well. Some secrets are meant to stay secret forever. Just ask Pandora.”**One last note: I have only ever listened to the Audible version of Liane Moriarty's books and I will probably continue to experience them this way because I think the actual audio form of these character's voices is brilliant. I love how their personalities are portrayed through their dialogue and the intonation in their voices.Especially my dear, sassy Cecilia..."“All these years there had been a Tupperware container of bad language in her head, and now she opened it and all those crisp, crunchy words were fresh and lovely, ready to be used.” -KB

***major spoilers****At first I was going to give this one 4 stars. The writing, as always with Liane Moriarty, was excellent. The inner dialogues with the 3 main characters slowly revealed their characters and as always, things are not what they seem to be at first. I love how their inner thoughts, as opposed to what their personas seem like to the outside world, can be so irreverent and insightful. She is great at dark humor. And I didn't guess the secret almost until right before the reveal. That sure kept me intrigued. And I continued to be intrigued by how it was all going to play out. However, I found most of the characters way too sad. And they continued to be sad throughout the book. If they weren't sad, they were hateful. For example, At first I thought Rachel was a damaged but ultimately sweet woman who will have some kind of healing or a new lease on life. But as it turns out, she was a cold, manipulative, selfish mother and mother-inlaw. She is a little redeemed at the end, but not enough for my taste. I wanted more than a hint that she was not going to make her son's and his lovely wife's lives miserable. I even found Tess’s 6 year old son Liam very grating on the nerves. And John-Paul. I just find it inconceivable that a nice 17 year old boy would ever try to strangle his girlfriend and then grow up to be a nice good man. He regretted his “mistake,” as it is referred to. Buddy, burning the casserole is a mistake. Strangling your girlfriend to her death is not. And no, it doesn’t matter she would have died that night anyway, because of her health issue. It is even hinted that it was good thing Janie, his victim, had a disease that caused her to die before John-Paul came to his senses. Because otherwise she would have gone to the police and been arrested for assault! And his life would have been ruined! What? This is just sloppy and thoughtless writing. There were too many loose ends and unresolved plot lines. How and why did Cecilia become the neurotically organized homemaker, school Mom, neighbor, and Tupperware mogul that she was? What about her sinister mother-in-Law? What about Tess’s relationship with her Dad? Rachel and Cecily’s fates were so cleverly, ironically, and thoughtfully intertwined. Tess’s thread, though interesting, was really not related to the other two protagonists at all. Their stories needed some more connectors to Tess. The Blurb for the book states: "Rachel and Tess barely know Cecilia—or each other—but they too are about to feel the earth-shattering repercussions of her husband’s secret." Uh, no they don't. Rachel does, but not Tess. And that info dump of an epilogue! Don’t get me started. I found it random, too pat, and gratuitous. It should have been way longer, more detailed and completely integrated with everyone included or not exist at all. How did Polly fair? The other two sisters? What about Lucy? What about Tess and Felicia’s relationship and their influence on each other? What happened with Lauren and Rob? Hell, what about one of the few completely likable characters in the book, Trudy the Principal, for that matter? The Husband's Secret was a fascinating page turner. But it had too many flaws. It is one of her highest rated books, but I liked 2 of her lower rated books much better. For this reason, I am really looking forward to getting my hands on The Last Anniversary.

Review

“Without a shadow of doubt this is one of the finest Irish-American books ever written….What Egan has done is restore the reputation and uncovered a host of details on a man I would venture to say had no peer in our history of Irish America….Egan’s take on Irish-American history gives this book a breadth and significance that would be very hard to match.” —Niall O’Dowd, Irish America "This is marvelous stuff. Thomas F. Meagher strides onto Egan's beautifully wrought pages just as he lived—powerfully larger than life. A fascinating account of an extraordinary life." —Daniel James Brown, author of The Boys in the Boat, Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Olympics "A fascinating, well-told story by an author fully committed to his subject. Egan's impeccable research, uncomplicated readability, and flowing narrative reflect his deep knowledge of a difficult and complex man." —Kirkus Reviews, starred review "As history, Egan’s book is solid; as storytelling, it’s captivating . . . An impressive biography." —Publishers Weekly "Meagher lived life full-tilt, with old-fashioned honor as well as courage and dash, so inspiring Egan that the prose flashes and flares . . . " —Booklist, starred review   "Just in time for St. Paddy's Day comes this sensational bio."—AARP The Magazine “Thomas Meagher’s is an irresistible story, irresistibly retold by the virtuosic Timothy Egan . . . The author tells Meagher’s exhilarating story with an Irishman’s flair for the tragic, poetic and dramatic . . . A gripping, novelistic page-turner…. Imperfect but irresistible, Meagher has long deserved a revival and reappraisal. For sure, he has a rousing one now.” -- The Wall Street Journal “Stirring and magnificent . . . Egan combines deep reporting with masterful storytelling to chronicle this bigger-than-life figure.” -- Dallas Morning News "Exhilarating . . . a rollicking, historical adventure story . . . You may not have heard the name Meagher, but after reading Egan’s excellent biography, you’ll never forget it." -- San Antonio Express News "An old-fashioned tale of tall talk, high ideals, and irresistible appeal . . .You will not read a historical thriller like this all year… [Egan] is a master storyteller.” -- The Boston Globe "Egan has a gift for sweeping narrative . . . and he has a journalist’s eye for the telltale detail . . . This is masterly work.” -- The New York Times Book Review

An outstanding biography of a fascinating person. . . . Thomas Meagher (pronounced Mar) was born in Ireland of a family of means in the context of the times. But his life led him to become a revolutionary. He and his father ( a prominent Irish leader) went separate ways. The younger Meagher allied with protestors of the British Empire. He was an agitator and took a role of working against the British. His reward? He was sent in exile to Australia. There, he struggled with other prisoners under harsh circumstances. And then? He escaped! And then went to the United States. . . .In the United States, he began a new life. His apogee was when he formed an Irish Brigade as a unit in the Civil War. This was a famous and fearsome unit, good in combat. However, over time, its effectiveness diminished with casualties. But Meagher was well reputed as its leader. After the war? Meagher sought financial security. His efforts took him to Montana, where he became a political leader in a complex and dangerous context. His final days may have been a result of this context. . . .A nice work on a person who played a role in different countries. Much detail on a fascinating character. . . .

There are some books that are so well written, that bring the people and the time in which they live so brilliantly, that illumine so many events and issues, that help you, in short, to better understand our world and how it was formed, that you simply want to grab your friends and tell them in your most impassioned voice,"You must read this book." And while I have grabbed no friends, I have told several how absolutely splendid this book is. The response, in every case, has been disinterest. Thomas Francis Meagher? Who is he? Why haven't I heard of him before? This is a case where one needs to trust the author. Timothy Egan is one of our finest nonfiction writers, and while a couple of his books - especially his outstanding book on the Dust Bowl disaster of the 1930s - are on topics of broad interest, he sometimes has taken up subjects things we need to know about rather than think we want to know. And such is this book about Thomas Francis Meagher. Although he died relatively young, Meagher's live sweeps through some of the key events in Irish and American history. Born into a relatively well-to-do family in Ireland - something of a miracle given the extreme oppression of the Irish by the English, where extreme resistance to English rule could lead to death or being sold into slavery in either the Caribbean or the southern Colonies. The first chapter, on the history of the subjugation and cruel and systematic abuse of the Irish by the British, is a marvel of compressed history. There is not a paragraph that isn't fascinating, while the book lays out the world into which Meagher was born. While many of the priests who were his teachers and his parents cautioned patience in the face of British occupation - which meant lesser British lords living on lands that had previously belonged to the Irish who eked out lives in enforced poverty, Meagher constantly asked why the Irish put up with it. And it is his refusal to tolerate what he saw as injustice that drove his life.Every section of this book details a new chapter in Meagher's life, which also happens to be a chapter in the life of the place in which he lives. After first showing his resistance to English rule and his violent opposition to it, we see him in the United States, where the almost equally vexing treatment of the Irish by American immigrants who had established themselves in the country a bit earlier than these Irish newcomers. Egan's attempt to gain respect comes together with his repudiation of Southern slavery is the book's longest section - and the one that will be of the greatest general interest (if one of my other friends asks, I'll simply tell them that it is a book on one of the Civil War's most colorful military leaders) - tells of Meagher's not insubstantial role in the American Civil War, where he became commander of the famed Irish Brigade, which brought a degree of respect and acceptance they had not achieved before. Not that all Americans accepted the Irish overnight, but American's have always respected its war heroes, and now there were Irish ones. The final chapter of Meagher's life shows him and his wife going to North Dakota - which was far wilder and more rustic than when Teddy Roosevelt visited it a couple of decades later - as governor of the area. If one sees Meagher as a Quixote, always tilting against windmills, the vigilantism in the territory was more than he could oppose, and it might possibly have led to his mysterious death only a couple of years after the end of the Civil War. The book begins with the event. Meagher on the deck of a paddle boat at the head waters of the Missouri. He falls off the deck of the boat ad drowns. It is a mystery that has never been solved, though Egan takes a gallant and fairly convincing stab at resolving it.But the sheer scope of the story of Meagher, who was renowned for his ability to sway his fellows and in a land where great oratory made people the equivalent of today's rock stars (albeit, without the sex, drugs, or rock and roll, though with all the fame, celebrity, and packed houses where they spoke), is truly epic. Meagher stood out as one of the great public speakers of the age, and his heroism on the battlefield makes him a major, if peripheral figure in that conflict. But the genius of this books is how much it makes us understand so many things. The Irish Question. Resistance to English rule. Migration to America. The abuse of the Irish in the United States. The reasons why many went to war against the South. The Question of Slavery. The Civil War itself, along with many of its greatest battles. The end of the War. Western expansion. And we finally learn just how wild the wild west could be. All these aspects of Irish and American life are masterfully told, in a prose that carries us easily from one page to the next.If you read this book, it is possible that you will read a better one in the coming year. Possible, but not likely. I doubt that the book will garner Mr. Egan another National Book Award. Members of the award committee are apt to react as I did when I first had the opportunity to read this: Thomas Francis who? But while the book most definitely tells the story of one of the great Irish and Irish-American political activists, it also tells the stories of Ireland and America itself, and reveals things about both countries that most readers - and certainly this reader - had not previously known or understood. This is very likely going to stand as one of my favorite books of 2016 and I could, I would rush up to you in person and say straight to your face, "You must read this book." So do it.

I got this book on the recommendation of my mother; who ultimately wants to read it. I had no familiarity with Thomas Meagher, but the story, written by Egan is an easy read and very fluid. The first quarter of the book focuses on Meagher and his role in seeking to enlist people in the Irish Confederation. Egan does a really good job of discussing the oratory style of Meagher, in particular his accent, arousing speeches to the people, especially against the context of famine that was decimating the population. There are also really pleasant historical sidebars (not really a sidebar, but inclusion in the story?) of other particulars, such as the out migration of the Irish to Australia and Canada, elements that were supported by the British Crown. The death toll of the emigrants to the U.S., almost 1 in 5, is a staggering number that is seldom discussed. There is also background information regarding others as well throughout the story, giving insight into those who worked in the Irish Confederation, and throughout New York at various times.Meagher’s trip to Tasmania is also discussed, which, I had always been curious about the length of time it would take to get that far away to the penal colony (120 days). Perhaps there is a bit of irony in that the transport actually fed them and they wore no shackles. The time in Tasmania actually seems a bit like a resort, even if it was away from their homeland of Ireland. Meagher eventually leaves, but his note to his warden/parole oversight person is a bit priceless, he basically sent a same-day message that let them know he was heading out. I mention this message because it gives further insight into the type of character Meagher was and is throughout the book. While in the U.S., Meagher is highly regarded by those who knew him from Ireland. Eventually, Meagher becomes a union general and fights in the Civil War, specifically leading the Irish Brigade. Meagher’s status remained while in the U.S., especially as he was placed in a bit of a position to use it to recruit new troops; even though the initial causalities weighed heavily on Meagher. There is also really interesting insight into the Irish’s perception of fighting to free slaves; as that is one of the objections that is raised by many of the Irish when drafted or paid to fight for the Union. At the same time, Meagher’s own battle in championing for his men, especially in the area of promotion and recognition are addressed. Overall, there are some political elements from the Civil War that are often excluded that are brought into the picture. The drafting of the Irish, and the ensuing riots that lashed out at African Americans are also another historical element that are seldom discussed or addressed. The Civil War portion takes up the largest chunk of the book, but Meagher’s time in Montana is discussed for about 50-60 pages. During this time Meagher found himself at odds with vigilantes who were opposed to his authority, which was 2nd highest office in Montana, as a commission from Johnson. Meagher worked to continue to instill law in Montana, even at a time when it was pretty minimally populated and had a high leaning towards an old west type of rule.Overall, the book is really good, a quick read, and portrays the situation realistic with outside information into the stories of the time that are often overlooked. I’d really recommend it, and it gives a new insight into the Civil War, especially as it addresses internal conflict within the Union and between various groups.

I know how hard it is to write a book. No book is perfect. This book gives an excellent coverage of DC technologies. This book requires previous networking experience. Cisco has stepped the knowledge you need to pass the CCNA Data Center. The area to improve is in the labs and best practices. Complete labs would be nice. For example, a lab for Cisco Nexus VPC using two Nexus where routing and HSRP are configured. I wish there was some coverage/integration with VIRL/GNS3. Finally, a chapter on what's next should be included if one's decide to go to CCNP DC or CCIE DC.

excellent book for the certification 200-155

A good read. Straight to the point.

Very good

I am about halfway through this certification guide, and I must say it is easily among the most difficult to follow cert training texts I have ever used. I'm not sure it could be any more dry - what a slog! There is very little effort on the part of the writers to break anything down, explain anything in simple terms. Even the figures used in the book are often not very clear in their meaning. It feels written for a higher level than the associate level. Many times it seemed to me that a term or concept would be brought up as if I should know what it was, and then MAYBE later in the book it will be slightly explained. Fortunately I bought this discounted elsewhere.

I have been learning from Mark Kohler for just about 12 years now and he has just gotten better and better over the years. Mark brings 2 professions together - legal and accounting in a way I have never seen or heard from in another professional in these fields. Our businesses have benefited greatly from Mark's wisdom and desire to help business owners and I am forever grateful I had the fortunate opportunity to meet Mark in 2006 when I was getting my business off the ground. I read every single thing that Mark writes, have attended his seminars for years, and can't recommend him enough. His classes at Renatus have honestly changed our lives forever. I struggled to figure out how to start and manage a business for years and Mark just lays it out and makes it easy. Thank you Mark!

I have owned my own business for over a decade. Honestly, my main interest is in my business. Not figuring out insurance, investments, retirement, estate planning, etc, on and on. This book is great because it has practical advise for all those aspects that are out of my main areas of expertise. The breadth of information in the book is quite large and the style is honest and conversational. Not a difficult book to read through in a few sessions.

I have been self employed for the past 10 years. I enjoy it very much. I don’t enjoy taxes though! As an entrepreneur and small business owner I’ve found Mark Kohler’s knowledge and expertise within this book prove to very helpful in the - somewhat boring ;) but necessary areas of -tax and financial planning. I’m a student of his previous writings and his workshops. I really rely on his advice and it’s always proven only good things.

I am a huge fan of the author’s podcast. Plus, one of his other books (The Playbook one) was among the best books I have ever read. However, this book was short on detail and contained a lot of basic info but too many advanced ideas.

Eye opener for a seasoned business owner like me. Definitely worth the read...and you NEED A HIGH LIGHTER!

Mark J. Kohler did it again!!! So grateful to have his guidance and advice. Makes navigating the ins and outs of the business world exciting. Thank you!

This book is amazing. I went through it in three days because I just couldn't put it down. It covers everything you need to know as an Entrepreneur and Business Owner. This was awesome!

I loved the speed of delivery-had it before it was in most bookstores! I like Mr. Kohler's direct style, and "easy to understand", method of writing; The book was "spot-on", just as advertised-a hand's on guide to succeding in your own business; the traps, the pitfalls, and new ways to avoid most of them!

So far this has been a fine read. I would recommend this for either right- before- bed, or on the beach, a quiet afternoon, etc. There are quite a few dynamic features to the story line. A few twists and tunes, and the characters are pretty well developed. There are a few parts that could be edited slightly better, but I do know most authors on here prefer for their readers to help them out in this aspect. It was not hard reading by any means, but it was also not an elementary level book. Be prepared for some love scenes. But honestly, sometimes they do add to the storyline, right?I hope to either purchase more in this series (if there is one) or get the author motivated to write more! Not that this was left with just a cliffhanger or anything, I have just loved how the storyline was developed, and would love to know where this could head into the future. Knowing how the characters have developed, interacted, and have grown leaves me with a lot of hope for more. I always love series/ books where there is a spin- off into a similar setting, but with acquaintances that the characters had, or will have.Overall, this is a great value and I would highly recommend it. It is a great value for the price, and it simply cannot be beat! I will be purchasing more from this author in the future, and look forward to new releases.

'' Writing means sharing. Its part of the human condition, to want to share things- thoughts, ideas, and opinions" - Paulo CoelhoAutumn unlocked, can relate to majority of the teens who read it. I do enjoy the book and the concept of it, but most importantly I love the book because it relates to me in so many ways. Its nice to not have to say what you feel when someone has already said it for you. Read it and you will not regret getting it!

This book by Amy Sparling takes you on an adventure as you watch Jace and Bayleigh take it to the next level in their relationship. Amy truly shows the trustworthy in Jace and the true colors within Bayleigh. Once reaching the second cover you while be sucked into a teenage love life

I absolustely LOVE everything about this whole series!!! 💓💓 But there is one flaw i didnt like about this book. Jace mentions his parents divorce but then in the rest of the books his parents are happily married and completely in love. Was very confusing. The only reason i didnt give it 5 stars.

It had potential to be pretty good, but there just wasn't a lot of depth to this one. It felt too short and rushed. I think it will end up ok by the end of the series. It was fine.

Best book everB E S T B O O K E V E R I N M Y L I F E

this book is really short and starts at a weird places not where unplugged ended. that being said it is still a cute book with a good story line. I would be mortified if I walked in on my mom like Bailey did

This is the second story in the Summer Unplugged series. All four are good. Great read for not a lot of time. Cute characters and I really enjoyed sharing their story

To enjoy this book a basic foundation is required in partial differential equations, wave theory, tensors, and Maxwell's equations. This is obviously a small audience. If you have a background in these areas, this book is an enjoyable read. It ties together electromagnetism, special relativity, and tensor math. Susskind's presentation of basic tensor math is way too brief. He does have many excellent teaching points, but if you do not have the basics down he does skip steps. If you do not know some basics of tensor math and manipulation, you are not going to learn it here. If you are interested in this learning this material and do not have that background I would suggest Fleish's "A Student's Guide to Vectors and Tensors, Fleish's "A Student's Guide to Maxwell's Equations", Fleisch's and Kinnaman's "A Student's Guide to Waves".All three books have multiple solved problems on the publisher's website that should give you the background to make this book an easier read.. Bernacchi's "Tensors Made Easy", has had mixed reviews but I found the solved problems very useful. As mentioned by other reviewers, you will need to understand Lagrangians which are covered in the first book in this series. The solved problems for this text are not available on the web. This is a major problem with this publisher. In this day of rampant viruses, you should not have to surf the web to find solved problems. This series is not written as textbooks. Many of us do not have teaching assistants to check our work and help us. If you have the background this book may be useful. If you do not have the background it may be very frustrating.

Leonard Susskind and Art Friedman's Volume III of the Theoretical Minimum is a great geek read for those who want explore how to take basic Maxwellian E&M and Special Relativity to a Lagrangian-tensor packaging. Besides gaining some physical insights and learning about elegant mathematical approaches, this helps set the stage for particle physics and quantum field theory. For example, books such as M.Y. Han’s “From Photons to Light” use this formulation of E&M as a starting point. The tensor notation that is introduced and used to condense both Maxwell’s equations and those of Special Relativity helps provide a smoother connection to a future volume discussing General Relativity. The description of how to apply Lagrangian concepts to the domain of fields provides good insight into how a physicist of Susskind’s stature approaches a problem.Regarding magnetic monopoles in Appendix A, Groucho Marx once commented “That’s the most ridiculous thing I ever heard.”

If you have tackled graduate level physics texts and found yourself thinking "I really need to shore up the foundations of my understanding before pushing further", the Theoretical Minimum series by Susskind and co-authors is a great place to begin. Susskind is a master at bringing his readers along on the journey, strengthening your math and physics skills along the way. Much of the time I had the nagging feeling that the material was too easy, but what really is happening is Susskind is simply making it seem that way in comparison to other authors. By the time I finished the book --like a smooth ride to a mountaintop --- I realized I had learned a great deal and was now ready to tackle those more advanced texts again. And if you read the entire book, and say the secret word, you might just earn $$ {intentionally cryptic remark requested by author}.

This is the three book in the series I have read. The first book set up a lot of the mathematical machinery used here, namely the Lagrangian and the Hamiltonian along with conservation laws and symmetries.I struggled a bit with the second book on quantum mechanics - have to go back and have another crack at that one.But this one was REALLY good. The setup of the book was so logical and the mathematical development was so well paced that I could feel much greater mathematical sophistication that helped me to anticipate many of the subsequent developments. Now, I will not say that I could erase all the equations and mathematical reasoning segments from the book, and as an exercise, recreate them from memory, calculation, and my own reasoning, but I will say that if you go over the material at a comfortable pace and are willing to look back a chapter or two or three to remind yourself of some key detail, you will be very well rewarded with a view into special relativity, electrodynamics, and classical field theory. Now back to Quantum.I cannot wait for General Relativity to come out. Chapter 11 seemed like almost like a cliffhanger to change gears into gravitational field theory. In your reference frame, take the time to read this book. As for general relativity, when it comes out, You Bet Your Life I will read that one.
