This is by far one of the best books I have ever read, though I have been reading the Bible for years! I actually had read this book before buying my own digital copy and will be going back to this again and again as well as listening to the narration! Next I plan to read each book of the Bible along with looking at its corresponding notes from this book. The author's insight into what God is doing in our lives to bring us to Himself is so deep, so clear and so helpful! You can also access a series of 20 videos on YouTube from the 100 Huntley Street program in which Jim Cantelon asks the author questions about the book as they go through it together. So glad I purchased this and the audio version together!

I love this book! As I tried to read the bible through in a year, and I chose the chronological version, I became so overwhelmed by the wrath of God and the destruction of entire cities and peoples I had to put it down. I could not see how God revealed His love for us with all that violent judgement. 66 Love Letters is beautifully written to help me see how God does reveal His love, display His holiness and affirms my own doubts and questions. I can't wait to read the next chapter. (So far Leviticus is my favorite believe it or not!)

I am leading 20 women in an online reading of 66 Love Letters alongside of reading through the Bible in one year. 66 Love Letters is the best book I've ever read in stirring me to engage in honest self-examination because I see glimpses of the Love and Provision of a very Good, Holy God. Crabb offers four decades of working with people as a psychologist to invite us to so much more than what we are experiencing. We all battle the world, the flesh and the devil but I am seeing there is way more evil in me than I ever recognized. Crabb has exposed for me the evil in my "necessity, reasonableness, efficiency, even moral goodness." I have sobbed over my demandingness that God cooperate with my agenda. I am in the middle of cancer, foreclosure, job loss, insurance loss, betrayal, and am homeless---my husband and I are living with friends. I am desperate for truth---and at times more desperate for relief. But, in the midst of mitigating circumstances that should sideline me, Larry Crabb has invited me through 398 pages onto the dance floor to find a Love I know not. I'm not very good at the waltz but my Beautiful God has grabbed hold of my right arm (Psalm 63:8) and He is not letting go of me---and it's all right here in these 66 Love Letters. With every book of 66 Love Letters, this author gives me hope not just by seismic exposure but by leading me to the One Who Loves me so! I am wrestling and learning from this book to live more concerned about "my unholiness than about my overwhelming pain"---and that has to be God! I listened to it on audible - but there were so many thoughts that I wanted to write down I had to get the hard copy. Like all of Dr. Larry Crabb's book this is deep and thought provoking. I love the dialogue and how it progresses.

This is a great read. I have enjoyed this book. I gives you a good feeling. It is like your getting a letter from a good friend. I have 4 copies of this book and given it to friends as gifts or thank you gifts if they helped me with something. I'm sure I will get more.

I highly reccomend this book and the audio book as well. The audio is read by the author and a friend. The whole book is a conversation between the author and God. It uses God's thoughts from the Bible to speak and it always leads to one primary purpose. I've bought 10 books to share with others and get them interested in reading and understanding the whole Bible.

I had heard about this on a radio program and bought it for my husband for his birthday. He just loved it! He told me I had to read it. It's excellent! He has bought it for a friend as a gift.

Written more like a conversation with a friend than a book just dispensing advice, the book's intimate style really works on two levels. The author tells the reader that "I offer here a system to improve one's pool game or a philosophy to improve one's life."Certainly this book will help a reader improve his or her pool game. Dale Brandt is an expert pool player, having competed professionally on the pool tournament circuit and has written columns for notable pool magazines. Brandt discusses both the mechanics and the mental aspect of pool, introducing the reader to key concepts like "3rd ball consciousness" (a method of visualizing where the balls end up after the shot), muscle memory and kata, a Japanese concept that stresses motion and thought. Offering a little physics along with psychology and geometry, Brandt differentiates between aiming and visualizing the shot, and he cautions players to "avoid boisterous or boastful activity" (smack-talk) or retaining rituals and rewards that players often use after losing a game or match.This book also offers readers a rich treasure of life advice and philosophy. Key to improving one's pool play and one's life is Brandt's concept of pool (and life) as a martial way. That is, both should be approached with mental discipline and honest examinations of one's strengths and weaknesses. Noting that a player's (and person's) inner journey is at least as important as the physical aspect of pool (and life), Brandt suggests a philosophy of combining both, using some eastern meditation or mysticism, a little Walt Whitman, some methods of a motivational speaker, and a bit of Carl Jung's theory of the unconscious. The advice in this book applies to many other fields of life other than pool--I've applied it to such diverse activities as fantasy football and policy debate.I absolutely recommend this book and give it five stars. If you read it, you will improve your pool game, and if you take it to heart you will also improve your approach to life. In fact, this book is so good and helpful, one should read it twice.

The subtitle "In Pursuit of Excellence" was well-chosen for this book. The writer's engaging style pulled me in and any reader should be able to identify flaws in approach, thinking, mindset and habit that can hold one back or propel one forward in the game of pool as well as the pursuit of an enhanced life. I highly recommend this.

In 1992, he received an honorary state Future Farmers of America (FFA) degree from Idaho, and in 2005, he received an honorary American FFA degree at the 78th National FFA Convention. From 2005 to 2008 he served as a board member of The National Council for Agricultural Education (The Council), and he is the 2008 recipient of the NACTA Distinguished Educator Award and the 2010 recipient of the NACTA Murray Brown Leadership Award. Dr. Parker has authored several Cengage textbooks, including PLANT & SOIL SCIENCE, AQUACULTURE SCIENCE, INTRODUCTION TO PLANT SCIENCE, and INTRODUCTION TO FOOD SCIENCE & FOOD SYSTEMS, among other contributions). He earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. in reproductive physiology from Iowa State University, and he completed post-doctoral work at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, and the University of Wyoming, Laramie.

My daughter competes in knowledge-based equine competitions. Her 4-H equine IQ leader recommended this textbook for studying to her group. It is well-organized, providing great attention to details. For example, she likes the tables of information, such as types of poisonous plants or drugs used to treat internal parasites. At the end of every chapter, there is a review or summary page. Her favorite part is the Critical Thinking/Discussion section, where she has to apply what she has read in an essay type question. If you are interested in horse ownership, hippology (equine IQ), or equine veterinary science, then you will enjoy this book.

Usually when I rent textbooks I keep the packaging to send it back in and it always works fine. For this one in order to open it you had to toally pull a tab back and like splitting it apart making keeping packaging annoying and difficult. Textbook arrived in great condition though.

If you are looking to save some money and need the textbook for class, this will suffice. It is not printed in the United States and lacks the color photos. However, I brought it to my professor and they were surprised and said it would work for class.

We live on a ranch and I homeschool my two daughters (ages 14 & 16) who are excellent horse women. This text book is well written, contains great images and has excellent course work. Love that the information is in a format experienced and non-experienced horse lovers will appreciate. Also gives tons of education extension ideas and websites. Great textbook or horse book in general.

Probably the best book in my whole library on Horses!!!.....NOT good reference for doctoring horse problems, but GREAT book for farmers taking care of horses..... a great book....

This book is well-written, easily comprehendable, and organized well. It is great for high school age without being so complex that it would be better suited to college. It has lots of illustrations, tables and other information to make it easier to comprehend and more useful in everyday life.One reviewer I read lamented that there was no resource with Question Keys, Tests, and Test Keys. There is!! It is called Classmasters and is on CD Rom. My copy has not yet arrived, so I cannot vouch for it. I have only one small complaint: this is the third edition, and a couple times the questiions at the end of the chapter asked about subjects no longer found in the text. Otherwise, this is a great choice.

I bought this book for my 17 year old daughter to supplement her equine mentorship program for homeschooling. What an outstanding textbook. Very well organized and attractive photos. Can easily be used for about 8th grade through 12th grade. The only downside is that there are no answers to the questions at the end of the chapters and no teacher's guide. This is definitely a textbook format and we both love the book. I have been homeschooling for 16 years and this is one of the best I have seen in a long time. You won't be sorry you bought it.

Learned a lot from this book...never knew much about horses, but this book walks you thru without overwhelming you. Which is much appreciated when studying several subjects at once!!

Call me a diehard J. Kenner fan. Well, I’m working on it as she has quite the library of books. Basically, I am a Stark series fan. I’ve read everything about Damien and Nikki Stark’s story, and it keeps me coming back for more.I believe it’s her book, Lost with Me, that introduced me to Quincy Radcliffe, the former British intelligence operative/Deliverance leader. From the start, this man has intrigued me. He is everything you love in an an intelligence hero: handsome, internal, secretive, intelligent, and bold. When he’s involved in a Stark novel, you know the bad guys will be brought to justice. I think Eliza says it best in Shattered With You when she says “his skill set is way more Liam Neeson than James Bond.” He will go to most any length to see that the job is completed, and no one is harmed.Up to this point, we know very little about Quincy (Quince to his friends) because he is so secretive and internal. However, in Kenner’s Damien, we get a sense that there is more to Quincy’s story than we realize.Shattered with You is the first book in the Stark Security series. This is Quincy’s book. And it is everything you love about J. Kenner: full of action and suspense, a broken past, some angst, and a lot of fiery $exual chemistry.We learn that Quincy has a former love, Eliza Tucker. They meet in London, fall in love, and Quincy leaves one weekend and never comes back. As is the case with most J. Kenner stories, there is much, much more to the story. However, we are dealing with two people with broken pasts who must find a way to salvage the present. This story suggests that two people together are better at healing than doing so by one’s self. This is the supreme love truth of this book.The Quincy of earlier Stark books is all work and no play. What this book shows us is he cares. He protects the people he loves to a detriment. He can be broody but he can also be thoughtful and profound. He sees into the souls of people which allow him to offer them solace when they need it. I loved the Quincy of this book (as I figured I would).Eliza is strength personified. Her past is littered with trauma. Given her trauma, she should be wholly broken. She's always been his.Handsome -check. Muscles - check. Alpha? Oh my, YES!!! Quincy is the perfect book boyfriend, and as i mentioned earlier, he's all mine. Okay, okay, I'll share him with you. But, all I have to say, is Eliza is one lucky lady!! I can't wait for the next book in this series!!! Can you?

Second chance love story with a little bit of action and suspense and some steam. Both Eliza and Quincy are looking for missing people when their paths cross and end up joining forces in a race against the bad guys. There are a few flash backs to show character development on how they met an fell in love. The flashbacks in reference to how they met all came from Eliza's POV, I would have liked to had Quincy's POV on this. Quincy first appeared in the SIN trilogy as part of Deliverance and he popped up again in very recent Stark Saga novels (and maybe a novella). The author continues the use her popular theme of characters who come from dark places, who use that darkness from within to build walls to protect their hearts. Once Quincy reconnects with Eliza, I love how she pushes to find out what happen, and an apology just want cut it. At times Quincy appears to be a little melodramatic about this darkness, but when it final reveals it self, he's not being melodramatic at all. I liked Eliza's character, but there were a couple places in the second half she came off as smug, when that attitude really wasn't appropriate. Also, has Eliza been wearing pretty much the same clothes the whole time? She goes from a dress, to a tank top and track pants because her dress is ruined, to the track pants and one of Quincy's shirts because she's staying with him, but no where else is it mentioned of getting her clothes from her place. For whatever reason this really bothered me.

Have been purchasing Passatino brand manuscript papers for my personal use as well as for that of my students for several decades.While I prefer 12-stave, for teaching purposes I find10-stave to be more "student-friendly". It's becoming more difficult to find publishers still offering quality10-stave m/s paper, much less in this handy spiral bound book form.Paper is of good quality. Colour is bright white. I prefer more of a cream-colour, but this is perfectly serviceable for student usage.Reasonably priced. It had more pages than I was expecting, which was great! (64pgs) However, I wish they showed the cover in the picture, because it is horrendously ugly. It doesn't matter too much, as I will only be needing the staff paper, but I wasn't very happy with it. The cover is orange with green dots all over it.

I have this book from 20 years ago and just bought some more. Meh, it's okay. It's probably better than other Hal Leonard paper, but its only advantage might just be size (9x12). The paper is at least half the thickness, if not 1/3, it used to be (same for the cover), and the spiral binding and paper quality is cheaper. But hey, it's only $1.50 more than it was 20 years ago. I guess that's what happens when a big corp buys you out; cheapen it and raise the price, but I'd rather pay $10 or $12 today for the same quality, though.

Great for studio use. Too many retailers only sell 12-stave. My students need more space between staves. Great book at a great price.

The paper and cover are not flimsy. The notebook size is larger, like sheet music pages. Plenty of room to write.
