Ms Maxfield did an excellent job of explaining the lives of an Amish family with the daughter named Ruby working on holding the family together. I love the grouping of three books making it easier to follow Ruby's life. The author covered several different situations I read all three books in one evening, please take the time to read about Ruby's life. Thank you Brenda.
Love reading amish stories
This was an awesome read! Ms. Maxfield did an excellent job portraying the character of Ruby! She had a strong personality and persevered to the end. She certainly endured a lot in her young life!
I especially liked the lead character, Ruby. Her desire to keep her brothers together after the death of their widower father influences her every thought and action throughout this 3-part story. The other characters were well developed and added much interest.
Depicts the hardships of life. RUBY'S strength and ability to endure disappointment over and over yet still stay true to her beliefs of what is right. She does what is right in the moment but never gives up.
Brenda's books are so heart warming and no "robot speak" ,as many writers are so prone to do. Very enjoyable!
This is a very nice series but was extremely short. It's very easy to follow the story line and would be very nice especially for young adults or teens.
Ruby and her brothers, mother had died and now thier Pa, after having flu and going back to the fields too soon died there in the field. Not knowing what to do the Bishop got her a job waiting on Esza's wife. The boys were helping other farmers. Now what else could happen? Lots! I loved this story.
